Harkness Henry has expanded its North Island presence following a merger with Auckland-based firm Malloy Goodwin Harford (MGH).

The combined firm will operate under the Harkness Henry brand and comprise 10 partners and more than 60 staff across offices in Auckland, Hamilton, Cambridge, Paeroa and Matamata.

As part of the merger, MGH partners Marise Allan and Patrick Casey have joined the Harkness Henry partnership. David Ruck and David Moorman will take on consultant roles, while Sarah Paterson and Sarah McLaren join as senior associates.

Harkness Henry managing partner Sarah Rawcliffe (pictured) said the merger reflects the strong alignment between the two firms’ client-focused approaches and complementary legal expertise, enhancing service capability across the regions.

Allan noted the combination brings together Harkness Henry’s 150-year legacy with MGH’s 35 years of experience.

The merger follows Harkness Henry’s earlier expansion into Cambridge in 2022 through its combination with Cambridge Law.
