DLA Piper have secured investment funds specialist Mitchell Weiss as a partner in the firm’s Chicago office. Weiss was prev iously a tax and investment funds partner at K&L Gates and will be working on tax issues, capital raising, investor structuring, portfolio management, ongoing operations, and exit strategies.

DLA Piper welcomes Mitchell Weiss as a Partner in the Investment Funds practice, adding to the firm’s ability to advise sponsors and investors on complex domestic and cross-border tax matters across the full fund lifecycle. He is based in the Chicago office.
Weiss’ practice includes fund structuring, inbound investment planning, cross-border acquisition structuring, inbound financing, and tax opinions. He advises US-based and foreign multinationals, private equity funds, and sovereign wealth funds across the United States, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia, helping clients navigate tax considerations related to capital raising, investor structuring, portfolio management, ongoing operations, and exit strategies.
