Norton Rose Fulbright has added former Baker McKenzie lawyer Kate Jefferson to the Sydney team. A lawyer with over 20 years’ experience, she has been a top lawyer in the health and life sciences and with a wealth of Asian M&A deal experience behind her.

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright welcomes Asia Pacific-focused partner Kate Jefferson, who joins the firm’s corporate team in Sydney.
Kate is a senior transactional law partner with more than 20 years’ experience advising clients on high-profile, cross-border M&A and capital markets transactions in Australia and Asia Pacific.
Her experience includes private and public M&A, joint ventures, carve-outs, reorganisations, equity capital raisings and Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) governance requirements, with a particular focus on supporting clients in the life sciences and healthcare, technology and consumer markets industries.
Kate joins from global law firm Baker McKenzie where she was co-head of the Australian healthcare and life sciences group and a member of the firm’s Asia Pacific healthcare and life sciences steering committee.
Her appointment follows the addition of new Norton Rose Fulbright partner Daniel Lin in May this year, working across Sydney and Tokyo and bringing a long history of advising clients on energy and infrastructure projects in Asia Pacific and a strong knowledge of Japan outbound M&A and financing matters.

This announcement follows the appointment in Australia of partner Daniel Lin (energy and infrastructure, Sydney and Tokyo) in May; and Brad Robinson (banking and finance, Melbourne) in January 2026; and the 2025 appointments of partners Michael Gajic and Ashley Rose (public M&A and equity capital markets, Sydney) in June; and Kristina Mihalic (government, Canberra) in February.
