September 29, 2026 | London: Luminance, the global leader in Contract Intelligence for the enterprise, has appointed Don Riddick as its new Chief Legal Officer (CLO). Don will lead the company’s legal, governance and compliance functions, manage its legal risk, advise the Board on material legal and risk matters, and align the legal strategy with Luminance’s wider business goals.
Don joins from amotivv, where he was Founding Principal and Chief of Strategy. He built his career at IBM, McKesson and Total System Services before spending more than five years as CLO and Company Secretary of Featurespace. He led its legal function through its acquisition by Visa in December 2024. He holds patents in AI and blockchain and has a further patent pending on AI compliance.
During his time as CLO at Featurespace, Don was directly involved in bringing Luminance into the company. His team used the platform to understand Featurespace’s legacy contractual commitments quickly and clearly, strengthening contract and risk management while replacing weeks of contract research with instant answers for Board and C-suite reporting.
Teams across the business, including Support and Engineering, also used Luminance to find service levels, support commitments, and other contractual obligations across the company’s contract portfolio.
Having selected and used Luminance as a customer, Don brings a unique perspective to the company. He understands the legal and business challenges customers face, as well as how Contract Intelligence can extend Legal’s impact across the enterprise. That first-hand experience shaped his decision to join Luminance and informs his belief that Contract Intelligence can give legal teams more time to focus on strategic work.
“I’m very excited to be joining Luminance. I believe there’s never been a better time to be a lawyer. Contract Intelligence changes the role Legal can play in the business,” said Don Riddick, Chief Legal Officer at Luminance. By giving every team access to the context and answers within their contracts, it takes routine questions off Legal’s desk and creates more time for lawyers to focus on planning for the future rather than re-litigating the contractual past.
Every new CLO inherits legacy risks and existing positions that need assessing. With Luminance providing intelligence across every contract in the business, I can assess them and get up to speed far more quickly.”
“Don has spent his career running complex legal functions in businesses where AI, data and regulation meet, from payments and healthcare to fraud prevention,” said Eleanor Lightbody, CEO of Luminance. “He has also sat where our customers sit, having used Luminance himself, so he understands what they need from us. He has worked across sales, strategy and the boardroom as well as legal, and he knows contracts are everyone’s business not just the legal team. He understands what a forward-thinking legal department needs: to extend its expertise across the business, provide every team governed access to Contract Intelligence, and focus its time on the strategic decisions where legal judgment creates the greatest value.”
