Blank Rome Welcomes New Litigation Associate Jacob R. Schmidt in Princeton

Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that Jacob R. Schmidt has joined the firm’s Princeton office as an associate in the General Litigation group. The group also recently welcomed associate Alexander J. Halaska. Jacob joins Blank Rome from Brown & Connery, LLP.

Jacob guides clients through high-stakes commercial litigation from the earliest stages of a dispute through trial.

“We are excited to welcome Jacob to our Princeton office,” said Judge Stephen M. Orlofsky, partner and chair of Blank Rome’s Princeton office. “As a two-time New Jersey law clerk, serving in both the Appellate Division and the Chancery Division, Jacob brings a valuable understanding of how New Jersey judges approach complex disputes, along with hands-on experience guiding high-stakes commercial matters from start to finish. His arrival strengthens our appellate litigation capabilities, and he will be an important resource for clients facing significant matters in New Jersey courts and across the country.”

Admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, Jacob received his J.D., cum laude, from Rutgers University School of Law, and his B.S., magna cum laude, from Rutgers University. Jacob previously clerked for the Honorable Richard J. Geiger of the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division, and the Honorable Jean S. Chetney of the New Jersey Superior Court, Chancery Division, Family Part.
