Nation joins the Real Estate Practice Group, while Clark joins the Litigation Practice Group. Nation represents residential and commercial real estate developers throughout California in connection with a wide range of development projects. Her experience includes master-planned communities, condominium and planned developments, mixed-use projects, age-qualified residential communities, build-to-rent communities, high-rise condominiums and custom lot subdivisions.
“Stephanie brings a sophisticated understanding of the full life cycle of residential and commercial development projects,” said Mercedes Martin, Chair of Buchalter’s Real Estate Practice Group. “Her depth of experience navigating complex development and regulatory matters will be an asset to our clients and an important addition to our real estate team.”
She also has significant experience preparing governance and sales documents for compliance with the California Department of Real Estate, as well as Fannie Mae, FHA, VA, and other federal, state and local regulatory agencies. Her work includes the preparation of declarations of covenants, conditions and restrictions (CC&Rs), maintenance and cost-sharing agreements, license and easement agreements, purchase and sale agreements and conveyance instruments.
Nation also advises developers on the structuring, formation, and operation of owners’ associations for common interest developments, real property disclosure laws, and buyer disclosure requirements. Her broader real estate practice includes acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and financing of commercial, residential, and industrial properties, as well as pre-acquisition due diligence and title matters.

Clark is an accomplished trial attorney with extensive experience handling civil litigation. His practice focuses on real estate and commercial disputes, securities fraud, trade secret misappropriation and unlawful detainer matters. He has represented a broad range of clients through every stage of litigation, from large real estate developers to independent businesses of all sizes.
“Charles brings substantial courtroom experience and a strategic perspective to complex commercial disputes,” said Gabe Green, Chair of Buchalter’s Litigation Practice Group. “His ability to navigate sophisticated matters while staying focused on clients’ objectives will further strengthen the capabilities of our litigation team.”
Clark has overseen high stakes matters involving complex real estate disputes, business valuation proceedings, trade secret litigation and complex tort claims. He works closely with clients to develop litigation strategies that address both their legal and broader business objectives.
