Morrison & Foerster has acted on behalf of EchoStar Communications Corporation, the U.S. satellite television company, in its strategic investment in Reality TV USA Limited. Reality TV USA Limited has been established by EchoStar and Zone Vision Enterprises, an international TV production company based in London, to launch the Reality TV USA channel in the U.S. via the EchoStar platform.
The new Reality TV USA channel will feature first-run reality series, classic reality series and U.S. premieres of reality programming from around the world. Reality TV USA will feature original television productions and television series produced exclusively for this channel.
The Morrison & Foerster team was led by Neil Foster, a partner in the firm’s Corporate group, based in the London office.
Neil Foster commented, “This deal played to our strengths in U.K. / U.S. private equity. It is one of a number of recent examples where clients have turned to us because of our expertise in cross-border transactions, private equity and the media sector. This was our first mandate from EchoStar in Europe. EchoStar is already a major client in the U.S.”
