LATHAM & WATKINS APPOINTS NEW CHIEF MARKETING OFFICER
 New York, June 15, 2004 – LAWFUEL – Latham & Watkins, a leading global law
 firm, has appointed Despina Kartson to the position of Chief
 Marketing Officer. Kartson, based in the firm’s New York office,
 will lead the firm’s global business development and marketing team,
 which spans 21 offices and three continents. Reporting to LeeAnn
 Black, the firm’s Executive Director, the post oversees a 70-strong
 business development team, which includes strategic planning,
 marketing, practice development, PR, internal and online
 communications.
Charged with furthering the firm’s global business development
 initiatives, Kartson will work closely with the Marketing Strategy
 Committee. For nearly two decades, she has worked both inside the
 law firm environment and in the professional services arena. Kartson
 joins from Bowne Business Solutions, the services provider, where
 she was Vice President of Business Development.
