BALTIMORE December 6, 2004 – LAWFUEL – First for law news – Ober|Kaler announced today that effective January 1, 2005, associates Kelly J. Davidson, William T. Mathias, Kevin M. Robertson, and Anthony F. Vittoria will become principals and Sherri M. Miller will become counsel to the firm. All attorneys are resident in the firm’s Baltimore office and were unanimously elected by the firm’s stockholders.
Kelly J. Davidson, 34, is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department. Her practice focuses on employee benefits litigation and other business and commercial disputes including trade secrets and intellectual property, contract disputes, non-competition and related employment issues. She has a highly successful track record for settling and litigating employee benefits issues under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act. Ms. Davidson is a member of the District of Columbia and Maryland State Bar Associations. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law (J.D., with honor, 1996) and State University of New York at Buffalo (B.A., cum laude, 1992). She is a resident of Towson, Maryland.
William T. Mathias, 36, has a national health care practice with an emphasis in fraud and abuse, corporate compliance, reimbursement, and HIPAA privacy matters. He advises clients on federal compliance, Stark, and federal civil monetary penalty provision issues. Mr. Mathias is a member of the Baltimore City and Maryland State Bar Associations and is active in the American Health Lawyers Association. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law (J.D., with honor, 1996) and Amherst College (B.A., cum laude, 1990). He lives in the Stoneleigh community in Baltimore.
Kevin M. Robertson, 34, is a certified CPA and an accomplished attorney focusing in the areas of corporate and securities, venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial finance. He represents venture capitalists in the formation of investment funds and investments in prospective portfolio companies. He advises emerging companies regarding public and private offerings of equity and debt securities, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate matters. Mr. Robertson is a member of the Maryland State and District of Columbia Bar Associations. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law (J.D., with honor, 1996) and James Madison University (B.B.A., summa cum laude, 1991). He resides in the Stoneleigh area of Baltimore.
Anthony F. Vittoria, 35, has an international construction practice that includes the representation of owners, engineers, contractors and OEMs in litigation, International Chamber of Commerce, and American Arbitration Association proceedings in matters involving claims of delay, abandonment, wrongful termination, substandard workmanship, and defective design. Mr. Vittoria is a member of the Federal Bar Association; District of Columbia, Maryland State, and Virginia Bar Associations; and the Bar Association of Baltimore City. He received his J.D. from the University of Virginia (1996), his M.A. from the College of William and Mary (1993), and his B.A. from the University of Virginia (1991). Mr. Vittoria lives in the Locust Point area of Baltimore.
Sherri M. Miller is an accomplished employee benefits attorney with extensive experience in the structuring of sophisticated benefits and executive compensation plans. She advises public and private corporations on the design, implementation and ongoing administration of retirement and welfare plans with a primary focus on the Employee Retirement Income Security Act. Ms. Miller is a member of the California and Maryland State Bar Associations. Her distinguished academic record secured her appearance on the Dean’s List at both Georgetown University Law Center (J.D., 1982) and Cornell University (B.S., 1978). She is a resident of Reisterstown, Maryland.
