Firm Creates Online Matching Funds Program for Employees
Kilpatrick Stockton today announced its collection effort for the millions of people effected by the devastating tsunami in South Asia. The firm has agreed to match employee contributions dollar-for-dollar to CARE up to $50,000, making the firm’s overall goal $100,000. This is just one of the many community-focused activities to which Kilpatrick Stockton is committed.
CARE has set up a dedicated Web page for Kilpatrick Stockton attorneys and staff, that will allow employees to make monetary contributions to the relief efforts by credit card at www.care.org/Kilpatrick. To urge employee participation, the firm has posted this information on its intranet site and a message was sent out by the firm’s managing partner, Bill Brewster. The firm has also set up a link on its website, www.KilpatrickStockton.com to enable site visitors to contribute.
Why CARE?
CARE is one of the many organizations that is providing aid to those affected by this devastating crisis and has mounted a comprehensive, multi-country emergency response that includes the distribution of food, water purification tablets, shelter materials and basic medical supplies. They have operated in the most affected countries – India, Indonesia, Thailand, and Sri Lanka – for decades. With more than 3000 staff on the ground before this crisis they are in a unique position to provide rapid response aid as well as long-term relief.
