23 April – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Cravath represented Transkaryotic Therapies, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company with a major focus on developing products for the treatment of rare diseases, in connection with its acquisition by Shire Pharmaceuticals Group plc for approximately $1.6 billion.
The partners involved in this matter were Faiza J. Saeed on corporate issues, Robert H. Baron on litigation issues, John W. White on securities issues and Andrew W. Needham on tax issues. The deal was announced on April 21, 2005.
