ATLANTA (MAY 31) — Kilpatrick Stockton LLP announced today that Partner Evelyn Coats has been selected for the Leadership Atlanta Class of 2006 and Associate Kali Beyah has been selected for the L.E.A.D. Atlanta Class of 2006.
Ms. Coats was chosen as one of 74 individuals out of nearly 300 applicants to participate in the Leadership Atlanta Class of 2006. Based on her “fine record of community involvement and leadership,” Ms. Coats will join a group of individuals chosen to reflect the broad diversity of metropolitan Atlanta.
It is the mission of Leadership Atlanta to build a better community for everyone in the Atlanta region by imparting to its members what makes Atlanta unique and by inspiring them to take on and exercise real leadership committed to serving the common good.
As a partner in the Real Estate Practice Group, Ms. Coats draws on 20 years of general commercial real estate experience in her primary practice of representing developers in their acquisition, financing, development, leasing, management and disposition of real estate.
Ms. Beyah is one of only 38 “highly qualified” individuals chosen out of over 100 applicants to participate in L.E.A.D Atlanta, a Leadership Atlanta initiative for young professionals.
L.E.A.D. Atlanta provides young adults the opportunity to enhance their leadership skills, tackle challenges facing the community and develop contacts early in their careers.
The integration of leadership skills with community exposure differentiates this program from others targeted at this age group. While L.E.A.D. (an acronym for leadership, education, action and direction) Atlanta will incorporate issues and challenges facing Atlanta, it will also include skill-building that will aid participants in their career and community involvement. L.E.A.D. Atlanta is preparing future leaders to become good community citizens.
As an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department, Ms. Beyah’s practice includes representing clients in general commercial disputes and defending clients in product liability and commercial tort claims. Ms. Beyah also has broad experience in the areas of personal injury, bad faith insurance claims and RICO claims.
