24 July - LAWFUEL - The Law News Network - Allen & Overy recently advised new client, Global Brands Group, on the provision of banking facilities by Lloyds TSB Bank plc. The facilities are the first debt raising to be undertaken by Global Brands Group and have been provided to assist the company in the operation of their licensing and store agreement with FIFA covering the 2006 and 2010 FIFA World Cups. The Allen & Overy team was led by banking partner, Sanjeev Dhuna, with assistance from associate John Evans. Sanjeev Dhuna comments: "We are delighted to have advised Global Brands Group on their first financing. This is a significant transaction for the company and will enable them to fully exploit the FIFA brand as FIFA's exclusive licensing representative. The correct structuring of the deal was vital to get Lloyds on board and this, together with the nature of our client's business, made this an interesting transaction to work on. We are looking forward to continuing our relationship with Global Brands as they develop their business."
