Market for Alternative Investment of the Stock Exchange of Thailand

Bangkok/ Thailand – DLA Piper today announced that it advised Moong Pattana International Public Company Limited (MPI) on its successful listing on the Market for Alternative Investment (MAI) established by the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) with a total of 30 million shares under the stock trading symbol of MOONG. The firm started trading on 1 October 2009.

Moong Pattana International Public Company Limited, a Thai trading company with registered capital of THB120 million, raised THB30 million through its IPO. It is a distributor of world-class consumer products including mother care and baby products under the trademark “Pigeon”. It also sells household products including Gerlach Poland stainless knives, “Foggy” and “Smile-V” water sprayers, sponges and B-care toothbrushes.

Dr Chanvitaya Suvarnapunya, Partner and Head of the Corporate Practice of DLA Piper Thailand, led the deal with team members including Pattama Jarupunphol, Athistha Chitranukroh, Dhanipa Hongspanij and Ekdanai Solgosoom, all from DLA Piper’s Bangkok office. DLA Piper advised MPI on Thai law issues in relation to its conversion into a public company. The firm also rendered legal advice relating to the SET, the Office of the Securities and Exchange of Thailand (SEC), the Ministry of Commerce and other relevant authorities as required to facilitate the offering and the listing of MPI’s shares on the MAI.
