Dallas — LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP announces the addition of Val J. Albright as a partner in the Firm’s tax services section. Mr. Albright’s practice includes advising clients concerning U.S. domestic and international tax matters, including for example, energy tax credits under the U.S. tax code.
Prior to joining Gardere, Mr. Albright worked in private practice and held various positions with the Office of the Chief Counsel for the Internal Revenue Service of the U.S. Treasury Department, including Deputy Regional Counsel (Criminal Tax) Southwest Region. During his tenure with the Office of Chief Counsel, Mr. Albright was involved in the development, settlement and trial of numerous corporate and individual federal tax cases involving diverse domestic and U.S. international tax issues, including many transfer pricing and related issues.
He received his B.A. degree from the University of Arkansas at Monticello in 1971, J.D. from University of Arkansas School of Law in 1977, and LL.M. in Taxation from Southern Methodist University School of Law in 1986.
Mr. Albright will practice in the Firm’s Dallas office.
