26 October – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Allen & Overy is advising Ericsson, the world’s largest maker of mobile phone network equipment, on its acquisition of Marconi’s telecommunications equipment and international services business for approximately £1.2 billion.

Marconi, set to be renamed Telent Plc after the transaction, plans to return 275 pence per share to shareholders in the first quarter of 2006, and its shareholders will also continue to own 100 percent of Telent.

London-based corporate partners David Wootton and Richard Hough are leading the Allen & Overy team, assisted by associates Karen Hendy and James Herbert.
