Winston-Salem (October 26) – Kilpatrick Stockton announced today the addition of three new associates, Laura Craver Miller, Chad D. Hansen and Carl E. Sanders to the firm’s Winston-Salem office.

Mrs. Miller joins the Intellectual Properties Group, where she will focus her practice on trademarks and copyrights. Mrs. Miller received her J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law, cum laude, 2005; and her B.A. from Davidson College, magna cum laude, 2001. While at Wake Forest University School of Law, she served on the Board of Editors of the Wake Forest Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif.
Mrs. Miller has authored, “The Opinion That Is Not An Option: The Invalidity of the Partial Discharge Option for the Student Loan Debtor,” and “Providing Trademark Dilution.”

Mr. Sanders joins the Intellectual Properties Group, where he will focus his practice on patent prosecution, licensing, and litigation. He received his J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law, 2005 and his B.S. and B.A. from Swarthmore College, 1998. Mr. Sanders’ published work includes, “Force Reflection for WIMPs: A Button Acquisition Experiment.”

Mr. Hansen joins the Litigation Practice Group, where he will focus his practice on complex commercial litigation. Before joining the firm, he served as Law Clerk to The Honorable William L. Osteen of the United States District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina in Greensboro, 2004-2005. He received his J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law, with honors, 2004, and his B.A. from the University of Alaska, Anchorage, 2001. While at the University of North Carolina School of Law, he was Articles Editor for the North Carolina Journal of International Law & Commercial Regulation and a member of the UNC Broun National Trial Team. Mr. Hansen has written and published, “Mondev International Ltd. v. United States: A Case Study of the Potential Risks of NAFTA’s Ever-Expanding Arbitration Provisions.”
