Davis Polk advised HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. and Mitsubishi UFJ Securities (USA), Inc. as representatives of the initial purchasers in connection with the offering by Corporación Nacional del Cobre de Chile (CODELCO) of $1.15 billion aggregate principal amount of its 3.875% notes due 2021. The notes were sold in an offering exempt from registration pursuant to Rule 144A and Regulation S.
CODELCO is Chile’s state-run copper mining company and is the world’s largest copper producer, controlling approximately 9% of the world’s proven and probable copper reserves.
