LawFuel.com – Cruise Liner Injury Law Firm News – A 15-year-old girl alleges that she was gang raped by three other passengers during a Carnival cruise aboard the Carnival Sensation. One of the suspects, 31-year-old Casey Dickerson, was arrested and is being held without bond.
Suspect-Dickerson.pngA reporter from a local news station in central Florida, WFTV, interviewed Dickerson in jail. Dickerson denied raping anyone, but did not say what he was doing with the teenagers. According to investigators, a group of underage people asked Dickerson to buy them alcohol. In the interview, Dickerson admitted to buying the alcohol.
Investigators also said the group started partying in one of Dickerson’s rooms which is where the cruise ship rape reportedly occurred. The girl claims Dickerson raped her first and then two unidentified minors raped her after him. According to the investigators, the unidentified minors said Dickerson told them to do it.
When the reporter asked Dickerson what they did in the room, he responded, “I’d rather not say.”
During the interview, Dickerson claimed that he did not know the age of the teenagers he was with.
“You don’t want to admit you raped that 15-year-old?” the reporter asked. Dickerson stumbled his words, saying “I didn’t mean – rape anybody sir.”
According to the reporter, when he continued to press him on the rape allegations, Dickerson suddenly decided to end the interview.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time a passenger has alleged a gang rape during a cruise. Our cruise injury lawyers are experienced in handling all claims of sexual assaults and cruise ship rapes, and have handled cases similar to this before.
It is currently unknown whether the other two unidentified minors are also facing charges. Carnival is reportedly cooperating with the investigation.
