LLP’s Philadelphia and Berwyn offices have been named “Rising Stars” in the
2005 edition of Super Lawyers – Pennsylvania Rising Stars. “Rising Stars”
are lawyers recognized in a survey of fellow lawyers as the best lawyers 40
years old or younger or who have been in practice less than 10 years. A
total of 18 Pepper lawyers in Pennsylvania were named to the list.

The “Rising Stars” survey, published by Law & Politics magazine, is an
outgrowth of the magazine’s “Super Lawyers” survey. Each year, Law &
Politics sends a ballot to the active lawyers in the state who have been in
practice five years or more. The submissions are divided into practice
areas and then reviewed by a panel of leading attorneys. The resulting
“super lawyers” list represents what the publication considers the top 5
percent of attorneys in the state.
“Rising Stars” are selected by previously selected “Super Lawyers.” Those
lawyers selected for the “Super Lawyers” list vote for the best attorneys
who are either 40 or under or who have been practicing 10 or fewer years.
They are instructed to vote for lawyers they have personally seen in action.
Additionally, Super Lawyers researches potential rising stars and assigns
points based on defined evaluation criteria. Point totals from the survey
and research are then combined and lawyers are ranked accordingly.
