LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – We have all been appalled by the murder last week of our friend and colleague Tom ap Rhys Pryce. Tom was robbed and killed while walking the short distance from a tube station to his home last Thursday night (12 January).
Since then we have been approached by countless people asking if they can make contributions to a lasting memorial for Tom.
Tom’s family and fiancée have decided that an appropriate memorial would be a charitable trust. Tom was himself a beneficiary of educational funding for which he was always grateful. It is therefore planned that any contributions will be used to enable individuals, who could not otherwise afford it, to achieve their potential by gaining access to the appropriate educational facilities.
The trustees of the trust, which is in the process of being registered with the Charity Commission, will be Tom’s parents, his fiancée and a Linklaters partner.
The trust would welcome all donations, large or small. If you would like to contribute to the fund, please contact Caroline Batho, of Linklaters, via email (caroline.batho@linklaters.com) or by post (Linklaters, One Silk Street, London, EC2Y 8HQ). Cheques should be made payable to “The Tom ap Rhys Pryce Memorial Trust”.
For further details, and a tribute to Tom from his friends at Linklaters, please refer to the Linklaters website (www.linklaters.com).
