NEW YORK, Feb. 3 – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, the international law firm, served as counsel to Vivendi Universal S.A. in its
acquisition of Matsushita’s 7.7% stake in Universal Studios Holding I Co.
(USHI) for USD 1.154bn.
USHI owns Universal Music Group (UMG), Universal Interactive (UI) and 20%
of NBC Universal (NBCU). Through this transaction, Vivendi Universal will
increase its control and ownership in USHI, from 92.3% to 100%.
Vivendi Universal is a leader in media and telecommunications with
activities in music, interactive games, television and film and fixed and
mobile telecommunications.
