LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Linklaters has advised Development Securities on the development of a new four star hotel as part of its expanding PaddingtonCentral development in London.

The Accor hotel will be launched as a New Generation Novotel, providing 206 four star rooms in a block specially constructed to meet the hotel’s needs. Beneath the 11 storey bedroom tower, a podium block will house a restaurant and bar, meeting rooms capable of holding up to 150 people, and leisure facilities for guests. The building has been designed by Moren Gregory in conjunction with Kohn Pedersen Fox.

Development Securities has now submitted plans to Westminster City Council for approval. Once permission has been granted, construction and fit out of the hotel is expected to take 18 months.

Real estate partner, Andy Bruce, led the Linklaters team with assistance from associate Helen Payne.

Denton Wilde Sapte acted for Morley Fund Management as landowner. Accor were represented by Stephenson Harwood and their own in-house legal department.

Linklaters has advised Development Securities on all aspects of their PaddingtonCentral scheme including securing development rights from Crossrail to enable future phases of the development (such as this hotel) to proceed.
