BALTIMORE – June 23, 2006 – LAWFUEL – Ober|Kaler is pleased to announce Health Law attorney Julie E. Kass has been named among the nation’s “Outstanding Healthcare Fraud and Compliance Lawyers – 2006” by Nightingale’s Healthcare News.
Ms. Kass focuses on the fraud and abuse aspects of Medicare and Medicaid, including Stark, the anti-kickback law, OIG exclusion authorities and civil money penalties. She has significant experience with Medicare coverage and reimbursement issues.
A principal in Ober|Kaler’s 32-attorney Health Law practice, Ms. Kass, 37, is a former Senior Counsel at the Office of Counsel to the Inspector General. After entering private practice in 2000, she quickly developed a national reputation as a knowledgeable resource with respect to anti-kickback and Stark statutes in addition to a variety of cutting edge issues in health law.
In 2004, Ms. Kass was selected by Nightingale’s Healthcare News as one of the nation’s “Outstanding Young Healthcare Lawyers.”
Ms. Kass is admitted to practice law in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C. She is active in the American Health Lawyers Association. She received both her B.A., cum laude, and her M.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1991. She received her J.D., summa cum laude, from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 1994.
Ms. Kass is a resident of Potomac, Maryland.
