(June 27, 2006, Pittsburgh, PA) – LAWFUEL – Press Release Service – Reed Smith LLP, a top 20 international law firm, has announced that Daniel L. Wessels will become a partner in its Corporate & Securities Practice Group in Pittsburgh, effective July 1.

Mr. Wessels rejoins Reed Smith from Cohen & Grigsby, PC, Pittsburgh, where he served as a director, shareholder and the firm’s secretary. For several years, he also served as chair of that firm’s Business Law Practice Group.

Mr. Wessels’ primary practice areas are corporate law, securities, and mergers and acquisitions. He has served as lead issuer’s counsel on several initial public offerings, other registered public offerings and many securities private placements, as well as lead counsel on acquisitions and dispositions of public and private corporations.

In returning to Reed Smith, Mr. Wessels joins an active corporate practice that has grown both in the U.S. and internationally in recent years. In Pittsburgh, Reed Smith has recently been ranked as the number one corporate law firm by Corporate Board Member Magazine.

A 1980 graduate of Harvard University Law School, Mr.Wessels also lectures on securities and mergers and acquisitions matters, including insider trading, securities exemptions and acquisition planning. He is an adjunct Professor at Duquesne University’s John F. Donahue Graduate School of Business, teaching Securities Regulation and Corporation Law. In addition, he has authored several works on diverse legal topics, including third party beneficiaries of M & A agreements; the Sarbanes-Oxley law and derivatives.
