Allen & Overy have recruited a former technology lawyer to build its tech practice following the recruitment of eight former White & Case partners who joined the firm in 2021. The firm has moved to build its technology law practice with new offices in Silicon Valley and San Francisco.

Allen & Overy today announced that Jesse Debban has joined the firm as partner in its Corporate practice.
Jesse joins A&O’s San Francisco office from Farella Braun + Martel where he served as partner and chair of the Business Transactions Group.
Jesse’s arrival follows A&O’s 2021 hiring of eight partners from White & Case, deepening the firm’s technology offering and the February 2022 hiring of intellectual property litigator Lisa Nguyen in Silicon Valley. This also follows A&O’s hiring of five partners from Goodwin Procter’s IP Litigation practice and the opening of a Boston office. Jesse serves as another key addition to A&O’s Northern California presence, which was established through the opening of new offices in Silicon Valley and San Francisco in August 2021.
Jesse brings more than 15 years of experience advising clients on a range of transactional matters such as M&A, joint ventures, securities offerings, and private equity and venture capital investments. Jesse’s experience will be essential in serving A&O’s growing corporate and fund client base and to the expansion of the firm’s market-leading M&A practice.

Prior to joining Farella Braun + Martel, Jesse began his legal career as an associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in Los Angeles. He earned a J.D. with honors from UCLA in 2006, and a B.A. from UCLA in 2003. Jesse is admitted to practice in California.
