HOUSTON (LAWFUEL) – Andrews Kurth LLP Managing Partner, Bob Jewell, announced that the firm is donating over $100,000 in cash and food to those in need this holiday season. The donations are being made on behalf of the firm’s clients and in recognition of the charities’ ongoing efforts to serve those in need throughout the country.
Because of the international presence of Andrews Kurth and its clients, the firm is giving $5,000 to Empower African Children, a non-profit organization which provides education and support to AIDS orphans in Uganda. The charity was formed with the help of Scott Kline and Quentin Faust, partners at Andrews Kurth.

In addition, the firm sponsored its “Open Up Your Heart and Give” campaign which called on each of the firm’s offices to sponsor a food drive. From New York to Los Angeles, the offices used posters, flyers and daily email totals to promote the effort to Andrews Kurth employees. Attorneys and staff pulled together in what many called, “the most exciting holiday charity drive in a long time” and collectively donated 50 turkeys, 10,242 food items, 12,512 meals and an additional $13,680—enough cash and food for the food banks to provide thousands of meals to homeless and hungry children, women and men across the country this holiday season.
