ATLANTA, Aug. 23 LAWFUEL – Law News Network — National law firm Lord, Bissell & Brook LLP is pleased to announce the expansion of its entertainment practice with the addition of C. Anthony Mulrain as partner and Donald M. Woodard as of counsel in the Atlanta office. Former colleagues at a previous firm, Mulrain and Woodard bring broad entertainment experience and represent high-profile music and talent clients that will strengthen the firm’s presence in the industry.

Home to many major recording artists and other creative talent, Atlanta has established itself as a leading player in the entertainment and talent industry. The addition of Mulrain and Woodard solidifies Lord, Bissell & Brook’s position in providing entertainment-focused legal services to the growing number of high profile Atlanta-based recording artists that have theatrical opportunities.

His practice includes structuring and negotiating business transactions in the television, film, stage and music industries, as well as negotiating recording, production, publishing, distribution and joint venture agreements on behalf of artists, producers and lyricists for the recording industry.

Woodard focuses his practice on transactional entertainment law, representing high-profile talent and entertainment companies in the music industry regarding recording agreement negotiation, record producer agreements, music publishing agreements, personal management agreements, tour agreements, motion picture soundtrack agreements, and merchandising and product endorsement agreements.

Woodard serves as primary legal counsel for multi-platinum recording artists, superstar record producers and songwriters in the music industry and other creative talent in the entertainment business. He counsels entertainment clients in their cross-marketing and brand-building opportunities, including negotiation of the first commercial product endorsement deal for a recording artist with Brand Jordan/Nike.

Woodard is a member of the Board of Governors for the National Recording Academy of Arts and Sciences (the organization that hosts the Grammy Awards) and is a member of the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyer Association. Woodard is also a member of the Entertainment Industry Commission for the City of Atlanta formed by Mayor Shirley Franklin to attract more entertainment business.
