ATLANTA, June 30, 2004 – LAWFUEL – Earnhart A. Spencer, Jr., an attorney
with Powell, Goldstein, Frazer & Murphy LLP, recently returned from a three
week educational trip to Ghana. Mr. Spencer was selected to lead a group of
nine Roanoke College students on a study trip to this West African nation.

In addition to attending lectures at the University of Ghana at Legon, the
students learned Ghanaian history and government firsthand by visiting various
historical, cultural, and political sites, including the slave fortresses at
Elmina and Cape Coast, the Asantehene’s Palace (King of the Ashanti) and the
craft villages of Bonwire, (Kente weavers), Ntonso and Ahwiaa (Wood carvings).
The group also had the opportunity to participate in an International Habitat
for Humanity project in the township of Assin Fossu. In his role as co-leader
of the group, Mr. Spencer served as the instructor for a course on Ghanaian
political history and comparative constitutional law, a mentor for the
students and a chaperone on various educational excursions.

Mr. Spencer noted, “Thanks to Powell Goldstein’s steadfast commitment to
diversity and the professional development of its attorneys, I was able to
take part in such an invaluable and rewarding experience.” He is an attorney
in the Firm’s Business Transactions and Corporate Finance Group. Earnhart
Spencer graduated from Roanoke College in Virginia with a B.A. in
International Relations and Political Science. He received his J. D. from the
