ATLANTA (November 14) – LAWFUEL – Law News, Law Jobs – Kilpatrick Stockton announced today that Shyam Reddy, an attorney on the firm’s Corporate Team, has been selected by the German Marshall Fund (GMF) to receive one of its prestigious 2007 Marshall Memorial Fellowships. The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta served as the coordinator for the Metro Atlanta Region.
Past Marshall Memorial Fellow recipients include Nina Vaca, ranked among the 50 Most Important Hispanics in Technology and Business; Colorado’s 34th Secretary of State, Ginette Dennis; and Ivailo Georgiev Kalfin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria. As a Marshall Memorial Fellow and an emerging leader in the political and corporate sector, Mr. Reddy will participate in a three to four week travel experience designed to strengthen the transatlantic relationship. The Fellowship represents Mr. Reddy’s strong commitment to continue his community and public service following his recent campaign for Georgia Secretary of State.
American and European Fellows each visit five or six cities and meet formally and informally with a range of policymakers and prominent members of the business, government, political, nonprofit and media communities. GMF works closely with partner institutions and individual consultants in each city, providing Fellows with an invaluable local perspective on the transatlantic and domestic issues on the agenda. Each Fellow also has the opportunity to explore his or her own professional interests beyond the group programs. In addition, Fellows participate in a forum to share their learnings upon return. In the fall of 2007 Atlanta will be the host city for the annual Marshall Memorial Fellowship conference to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the MMF program.
After his campaign, Mr. Reddy resumed his legal career with Kilpatrick Stockton to focus on mergers and acquisitions, technology-related transactions, venture capital and private equity deals.

For more than 50 years, The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta (TCF) has been committed to supporting emerging and established civic leadership to grow and strengthen its regional citizenry. This year The Foundation partnered with the German Marshall Fund (GMF) for the first time to coordinate the 2007 Marshall Memorial Fellowship (MMF) selection for the metro Atlanta region.
Drawn from 19 European countries and the U.S., more than 1,300 Fellows have participated in the program since its inception in 1982, remaining engaged through annual conferences, meetings, online communications and involvement in other GMF program areas.
All candidates were nominated for the program by a recognized leader in the community and were required to submit a written application as well as undergo an interview by a panel of regional civic leaders and former Marshall Fellows.
