TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Attorney General Pam Bondi today thanked the members of the Florida House for their unanimous passage of HB 7059. The bill enhances Florida’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization Act and allows the Department of Legal Affairs to seek restitution for those victims who are harmed by a violation of the act. The bill also allows the department to seek civil penalties for offenders who violate this act.
“I want to thank the members of the House for unanimously passing HB 7059,” said Attorney General Bondi. “This important legislation will allow my office to recover funds for Floridians who have been defrauded and obtain civil penalties against the offenders.”
