Augut 23 2004 LAWFUEL – Best for law, law news, legal news, attorneys, legal research OnWednesday, August 18, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in Manhattan ruled in favor of the Martha Graham Dance Center, reaffirming its right to ownership of the overwhelming majority of Graham’s dances, sets and costumes. Damages were also awarded to the Center in connection with a breach of fiduciary duty of the plaintiff, Ronald Protas, and for his pocketing of licensing fees that rightfully belonged to the Center. Cravath has handled the case pro bono on behalf of the Martha Graham Dance Center since December 2001.

Cravath partner, Katherine B. Forrest, and Senior Attorney, Joanne M. Gentile, led the trial and appellate team that handled the matter.
