Baker + McKenzie Launches e-Learning Program

The online legal information and training provider, Baker McKenzie Link, has launched a new e-learning program that focusses on the GDPR and global data privacy ahead of the GDPR enforcement deadline, 25 May 2018.

The program answers the market demand for quality online training that creates organization-wide awareness of the GDPR through scenario-based learning. With a number of key clients already on board and a range of language versions in development, it looks set to be one of Link’s most popular programs.

Written by Baker McKenzie Partner, Wouter Seinen, and Privacy and Cybersecurity Advisor, Andre Walter, the data privacy e-learning covers a broad range of topics, including collection, processing, notification, transfer, security, breach, and enforcement. Customization options, such as content development and brand integration, ensure that the program meets the specific training needs of individual organizations.

With the upcoming deadline for the GDPR enforcement, the launch is timely as data privacy awareness and training is a key priority for many organizations. Andre Walter comments “The majority of privacy breaches are due to human errors, such as losing your USB stick, laptop or similar. Privacy awareness training is the strongest instrument to reduce individual errors or misconduct that could result in penalties for the organization.”

This is the latest in the range of compliance topics covered in the company’s suite of multi-lingual e-learning programs. The programs help organizations to avoid risk in a volatile and complex regulatory environment, by training all levels of employees in key aspects of compliance.
