CHICAGO, July 19, 2004 - LAWFUEL - Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg LLP, a leading law firm focusing on complex business and wealth management issues, announced today that partner Timothy Ray (34) has been named as one of Chicago Daily Law Bulletin's "40 Illinois Attorneys Under 40 to Watch." The selection process for the "40 Under 40" award, now in its fifth year, is overseen by the Law Bulletin Publishing Company's 40 Under 40 Committee and includes an examination of the career achievements of the nominees, including successful verdicts and settlements. In addition, the committee reviews the career progressions of the nominees as well as their contributions to their communities. According to the publication, more than 1100 nomination forms were submitted. "Timothy has emerged as one our profession's true leaders and has many significant accomplishments to his credit. He has also made many valuable contributions to the practice of law and to our firm and is a leader in the community," said NGE's managing partner, Jerry Biederman. "We are very proud of Timothy whose wisdom and expertise go well beyond his years." Mr. Ray practices in the General Litigation group at NGE, where he concentrates in the area of commercial litigation, providing counsel to manufacturers in the areas of breach of contract disputes, consumer fraud, common-law fraud, breach of warranty issues, and product liability. Additionally, Mr. Ray has provided counsel to local hospitals that are service providers, seeking reimbursement from HMOs for services rendered under the terms of their contracts. In addition to his law affiliations, Mr. Ray is also active with the Chicago Committee on Minorities in Large Firms, Minority Corporate Counsel Association and has been appointed to the Cook County First Municipal District Advisory Committee. In 1991, Mr. Ray earned his B.A. degree from Xavier University of New Orleans. He obtained his J.D. in 1994 from the University of Iowa College of Law, where he was a member of the Iowa Law Review and the Iowa Moot Court Board.
