LAWFUEL- The Legal Newswirek - Urging a jury to acquit Phil Spector of murder Thursday, a defense attorney charged that law enforcement officials railroaded the music legend in the death of an actress because they were desperate to win a conviction against a celebrity. Making oblique references to the unsuccessful prosecutions of O.J. Simpson and Robert Blake, the lawyer told jurors in her closing argument that prosecutors in the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office disregarded evidence that Lana Clarkson's death was a suicide in order to make Spector the "first celebrity notch in the government's gun belt."
