Heida joined the firm in 2015 as Senior Counsel with the goal of building and growing for the firm an Asian business practice specialising in advising Asian (and particularly Chinese) entities on their inbound investment in New Zealand. Heida is an experienced M&A practitioner and has over 20 years’ experience in cross-border investment. In her prior role, Heida was a partner at Barlow Lyde & Gilbert (now Clyde & Co), having worked in London, Hong Kong and China. Her presence as Head of Asia Business has significantly enhanced Kensington Swan’s ability to provide legal advice on inbound investment from Asia. Heida is a recognised leader and a go-to specialist in the field. She has also recently been elected president of the Hong Kong New Zealand Business Association.
