BOSTON, May 3 – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network — Law & Politics …

BOSTON, May 3 – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network — Law & Politics and the publishers of Boston magazine released the 2005 list of Massachusetts Rising Stars, which will reach more than a half million readers this month. Massachusetts Rising Stars are the up-and-coming attorneys in their respective practice areas, selected
by their peers and verified by the attorney-led research staff at Law &
Politics. The list is published in Massachusetts Super Lawyers – Rising Stars
Edition, an annual magazine featuring articles about the local legal community
that is mailed to every lawyer in Massachusetts. Rising Stars also appear in a
special advertising section in the May 2005 issue of Boston magazine.

“We are excited to be partnering with Law & Politics on the special
‘Rising Stars’ section in our May issue. The section will undoubtedly be well
read and generate a significant amount of buzz in Boston’s legal community,”
says Paul Reulbach, publisher of Boston magazine. “It was extremely important
to us from a brand perspective to insure that the section be of the highest
quality, well-researched and accurate. Law & Politics has the expertise to
produce a section that meets our high standards, and a proven track record
across the country.”

The Rising Stars selection process began in November 2004. Law & Politics
sent ballots to Massachusetts attorneys who had been selected as Super Lawyers
by their peers. The Super Lawyers voted for the best lawyers they had
personally observed in action who are 40 or younger or have been practicing
for 10 years or less. Each lawyer was given a score based on the number of
votes received and the source of those votes (votes of lawyers from other
firms carry more weight than those from lawyers in the same firm). The Super
Lawyers research team evaluated the credentials of the nominees and ensured
that each lawyer was in good standing with the Massachusetts Board of Bar
Overseers.

“We publish Rising Stars lists in eight states and Super Lawyers lists in
14 states. The feedback from the lawyers in each jurisdiction has been
fabulous,” says William White, publisher of Law & Politics. “Rising Stars is
perceived as what it is — a highly credible and reliable resource for
consumers of legal services. We’re confident the lawyers in Massachusetts will
feel the same.”
