Brinks, Gilson & Lione Begins New Phase of Firm Leadership

Gustavo (Gus) Siller begins four-year term as president

CHICAGO – January 18, 2018 – Brinks Gilson & Lione, one of the largest intellectual property law firms in the United States, is pleased to announce that Gustavo (Gus) Siller has assumed the role of president at the 140-lawyer firm, effective January 1, 2018. Gus, who was elected to a four-year term, succeeds James Sobieraj, who was elected in 2011.

As president, Gus will focus on several core pillars, including: maintaining the firm’s standing in an increasingly competitive legal environment, continuing to build on our strong reputation in the Chicago marketplace, increasing awareness of the firm’s diversity and inclusion initiatives and identifying efficient and effective business models for protecting clients’ technologies and IP portfolios.

“It is an exciting time for our firm as we continue to adapt and change in an increasingly competitive environment,” Gus said. “I’m confident our status as a premier and highly sought-after trusted legal partner will pave the way for success as we solve the most complex business challenges our clients will face in the years ahead.

“I’d be remiss if I didn’t note that it was a pleasure to work alongside James in his final year as president. His breadth of experience, judgment, and leadership have been instrumental to me during this transition.”
