CHICAGO, August 20 LAWFUEL – Best for law news, legal news, law firms, law articles – Dennis Wieczorek, co-chair of the Franchise and Distribution practice group of Piper Rudnick LLP, has been chosen as the next chair of the ABA Forum on Franchising, the law firm has announced.

“We are very proud that Dennis has been named to this prestigious post,” said Lee Miller, co-chair of Piper Rudnick. “Of course, we already regard him as one of the country’s leaders in franchise law. He is a key part of our firm’s top-flight Franchise and Distribution practice.”

Mr. Wieczorek has focused his practice in U.S. and international franchising, licensing, antitrust, and distribution law matters for more than 27 years. He has also spoken on franchising topics to numerous audiences of lawyers, executives, government regulators, and accountants; and his written works have appeared in a wide variety of business and legal publications. He has been retained as an expert witness in franchise litigation and has testified before the U.S. Congress on the subject of franchise legislation.
Recently, Who’s Who Legal’s International Who’s Who of Franchise Lawyers ranked Piper Rudnick the number one firm in the world in the area of franchise law, and named Mr. Wieczorek in its list of outstanding Franchise lawyers. Mr. Wieczorek has also been selected as a Leading Illinois Attorney by the Network of Leading American Attorneys.

Mr. Wieczorek has been a member of the forum’s governing committee since 2002. Since 1993, he has been chair of the Advisory Committee to the North American Securities Administrators Association Franchise and Business Opportunities Project Group.

Mr. Wieczorek’s two-year term as chair of the forum will begin in August 2005.
