DALLAS, Nov. 2 2004 LAWFUEL – Law, class action, litigation, attorney news
The law firm of Baron & Budd, P.C. announced a $115,000 jury verdict delivered today in California on behalf of a 56-year old California man who suffered heart valve damage related to the use of the “fen phen” diet drug Pondimin. Wyeth manufactured Pondimin before the drug’s removal from the market in 1997, when a Mayo Clinic report linked the drug to serious heart and lung damage.

Ellen Presby, a shareholder with Baron & Budd, and Rick Nemeroff of the
Nemeroff Law Firm, represented the plaintiff. The jury returned their verdict
after six hours of deliberations. The parties reached a settlement prior to
the second phase of the trial.
