Debevoise & Plimpton Announce 13 New Counsel

Debevoise & Plimpton LLP announces that Julia Caldwell, Jung Eun Choi, Lachlan Conroy, Tom Cornell, Matthew Daly-Grafstein, Luke Duggan, Harry Just, Julianne Marley, Lily Picón, Kate Saba, Jonathon Yeung, Huiyu Yin and Jihyun Yoo have been named counsel to the firm. Their promotions became effective on July 1.

Julia Caldwell is based in the London office and a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation Group. Her practice focuses on complex multi-jurisdictional litigation, group actions and parent company liability disputes. Ms. Caldwell received her LL.M. in 2017 from New York University School of Law and her LL.B. with honors from Victoria University of Wellington in 2011. She is admitted as a solicitor in New Zealand and in England and Wales.

Jung Eun Choi is based in the New York office and a member of the firm’s Financial Institutions Group. Her practice focuses on advising U.S. and non-U.S. financial institutions on a broad range of bank and financial regulatory, supervisory and transactional matters, including strategic bank regulatory advice, chartering, investments, M&A transactions, stablecoins and other digital asset regulations and supervisory remediation. Ms. Choi received her J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law in 2014 and her B.A. from Brown University in 2008.

Lachlan Conroy is based in the New York office and a member of the firm’s Finance Group. His practice focuses on leveraged finance transactions for the firm’s private equity and corporate clients. Mr. Conroy received both his LL.B. with Distinction and his B.Com from Murdoch University in 2016. He is admitted to practice in New York and Australia.

Tom Cornell is based in the London office and a member of the firm’s International Dispute Resolution Group. His practice focuses on international arbitration and complex multijurisdictional litigation. In 2015, Mr. Cornell served as a Judicial Assistant to the Rt. Hon. Lord Dyson MR at the Court of Appeal for Easter and Trinity terms. He received his LL.M. with Distinction from London School of Economics and Political Science in 2014, his GDL from BPP Law School in 2010 and his B.A. with First Class Honours from the University of Oxford in 2008.

Matthew Daly-Grafstein is based in the San Francisco office and a member of the firm’s Investment Management Group. His practice focuses on advising sponsors of private investment funds, co-investment vehicles and separately managed accounts across numerous sectors and strategies including buyout, credit, fund of funds and venture capital. Mr. Daly-Grafstein received his J.D. from New York University School of Law in 2016 and his B.A. from the University of Toronto in 2013.

Luke Duggan is based in the London office and a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation Group. He acts for and advises clients in a variety of multi-party, high-value commercial disputes in England and various foreign jurisdictions. In 2012, Mr. Duggan was a Judicial Assistant to the Judge administering the Commercial, Commercial Arbitration, and Technology and Construction Lists in the Equity Division of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, Australia. He received his LL.M. from the University of Cambridge in 2017, and both his LL.B. with First Class Honours and his B.A. from University of Technology, Sydney, in 2011. Mr. Duggan is admitted as a solicitor advocate in England and Wales, as a lawyer of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and as a solicitor and barrister of the High Court of Australia.

Harry Just is based in the Frankfurt office and a member of the firm’s Investment Management Group. His practice focuses on advising U.S. and other international sponsors on the formation and operation of private investment funds, and on counseling corporate clients on sustainability and ESG-related regulations and strategies. Mr. Just received his LL.M from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law in 2018 and graduated from Saarland University in 2010. He is admitted to practice in Germany and New York.

Julianne Marley is based in the New York office and a member of the firm’s International Dispute Resolution Group. Her practice focuses on international commercial and investment treaty arbitration, arbitration-related litigation and public international law. From 2014 to 2015, she clerked for the Hon. Janet C. Hall, then-Chief District Judge for the District of Connecticut. Ms. Marley received her J.D. cum laude from New York University School of Law in 2014 and her B.A. summa cum laude from Boston College in 2006.

Lily Picón is based in the New York office and a member of the firm’s Investment Management Group. Her practice focuses on advising sponsors of private investment funds and separately managed accounts across numerous sectors and strategies, and representing institutional investors in connection with their private equity investments, including U.S. and international buyout, venture capital and other sector funds and anchor and seed investments. Ms. Picón received her J.D. cum laude from New York University School of Law in 2016 and her B.A. with distinction from Cornell University in 2013.

Kate Saba is based in the New York office and a member of the IP Litigation Group. Her practice focuses on trademark, copyright, and false advertising disputes and litigation on behalf of clients across a range of industries including the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, fashion, and technology industries. From 2020 to 2021, she clerked for the Hon. Lorna G. Schofield of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Ms. Saba received her J.D. from Columbia Law School, where she was a James Kent Scholar and Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and her B.S. with Distinction from Duke University in 2011.

Jonathon Yeung is based in the New York office and a member of the firm’s Finance Group. His practice involves advising private equity sponsors, corporate borrowers and lenders on a range of domestic and cross-border financing transactions, with a particular focus on acquisition and leveraged financings. Mr. Yeung received his LL.M. from Columbia Law School with honors in 2023, and both his LL.B. with first class honors and his B.Com (Finance) with Distinction from the University of New South Wales in 2011. He is admitted to practice in New York and New South Wales.

Huiyu Yin is based in the New York office and a member of the firm’s Investment Management Group. Her practice focuses on advising sponsors of private investment funds, co-investment vehicles and separately managed accounts across numerous sectors and strategies including buyout, credit and infrastructure funds. Ms. Yin received her J.D. cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center in 2016, her LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2013 and her LL.B. from the University of International Business and Economics in 2012.

Jihyun Yoo is based in the New York office and a member of the firm’s Investment Management Group. Her practice focuses on advising sponsors of private investment funds, co-investment vehicles, separately managed accounts and continuation funds across numerous sectors and strategies, including buyout and credit funds. Ms. Yoo received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2015 and her B.A. summa cum laude from Wellesley College in 2008. She is admitted to practice in New York and Delaware.
