DLA Piper secures victory for WebSpectator

May 24, 2018 – DLA Piper secured a victory this week in its representation of WebSpectator Corporation, a Santa Monica-based company that pioneered online analytics and attention ad space, as the plaintiff before the United States District Court for the Central District of California. The litigation against the company’s former officers and directors included claims for violations of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, the Anti-Cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act and RICO, among other causes of action.
Granting WebSpectator’s motion for sanctions for spoliation of evidence, the court entered defaults against the defendants and vacated the trial date.

The DLA Piper team representing WebSpectator was led by partner Ellyn Garofalo and associate Amir Kaltgrad (both of Los Angeles).
