LOS ANGELES, CA (April 10, 2019) Jackson Lewis P.C., one of the country’s preeminent workplace law firms, is pleased to announce Jean Y. Yu has joined the firm’s Los Angeles office as a Principal. Ms. Yu joins the firm from Venable LLP, where she focused on employee benefits, ERISA and corporate transactional matters. Ms. Yu is the fourth high-profile lateral to join Jackson Lewis’ rapidly expanding Employee BenefitsPractice Group in 2019, joining Robert W. Rachal, Michael W. Taibleson and C. John Wentzell, Jr.

Napier-Joyce, Leader of the firm’s Employee Benefits Practice Group. “Her experience assisting employers with the unique challenges in that state, ranging from advising on multiemployer plans and assisting in negotiations with the IRS and DOL in audits, investigations and on other complex compliance issues, including correction of plan qualification errors through EPCRS, will be invaluable to our California clients while also adding to the deep resources we are able to offer our national client base.”

Ms. Yu assists clients with issues relating to employee benefits, ERISA, multiemployer, collective bargaining, executive compensation and corporate transactions. In particular, she counsels employers on multiemployer plan and union related issues, such as benefits, partial termination and withdrawal liability. In addition, Ms. Yu has considerable experience negotiating employment agreements and equity compensation arrangements for public and private companies across different industries.

Ms. Yu earned her B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley, her J.D. from Seattle University School of Law and her LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law.
