Foley & Lardner LLP announced today that David Morris has joined the firm’s Salt Lake City office as a partner in its Taxation Practice Group. Morris comes to Foley from Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where he counseled private equity sponsors and corporate clients on a broad range of complex transactional tax matters.
Morris brings over a decade of experience advising on domestic and cross-border tax issues involving mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, recapitalizations, debt and equity financings, and internal restructurings.
“David’s transactional experience and industry knowledge make him a strong addition to our team,” said Timothy Voigtman, chair of Foley’s Taxation Practice Group. “His arrival supports the continued growth of our tax capabilities and strengthens the comprehensive services we provide to clients nationwide. We are pleased to welcome him to the firm.”
Morris also regularly counsels investment funds, portfolio companies, and emerging growth businesses on transaction-specific issues and structural tax planning. He has advised clients across diverse industries, including software, financial services, energy, and manufacturing.
“We continue to invest in growing our Salt Lake City office, and David’s addition is an important step in expanding our capabilities in the region,” said Monica Call, managing partner of Foley’s Salt Lake City office. “His deep experience in tax and complex deal structuring enhances our services to clients in Utah and across the country.
