Friday 13 October 2006 – LAWFUEL – Australian Law News – Mr Scott James Dawson of Warner, Queensland, has appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on seven fraud charges brought by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC). Mr Dawson is charged with six counts of dishonestly causing detriment to six clients totalling $126,754.33 between February 2002 and June 2004.
He was also charged with one count of forgery. Mr Dawson was released on bail and is due to reappear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on 3 November 2006. The matter is being prosecuted by the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions. Background ASIC permanently banned Mr Dawson from providing financial services on 29 June 2006.
