NEW YORK – LawFuel.com – Haynes and Boone, LLP this week launched a series of breakfast roundtables that explore topical issues in the sports and entertainment industries with leading industry figures.
The initial breakfast roundtable topics revolved around a discussion of the New Meadowlands Stadium presented by Mark Lamping, President and CEO, and Mark Bingham, Senior Vice President of New Meadowlands. Ed Schauder, head of the law firm’s Sports and Entertainment Practice, moderated the discussion.
“We could not have been more pleased with our first event,” Mr. Schauder said. “With the contribution of our friends at the New Meadowlands Stadium, this session provided a strong foundation for the other events we have on tap.” Mr. Lamping thanked Ed, saying, “It was a great opportunity to talk about the project.”
Up next is a July 16 session entitled, “The Business of Baseball from the Minor Leagues to the Major Leagues,”
which will look at some strategic initiatives planned by Major League Baseball to promote baseball, the operations of minor league sports franchises, the lucrative memorabilia and fantasy baseball industries and the expansion of the game overseas.
Then, on Sept. 9, the breakfast series will present a detailed look at the planning of the 2011 World Police and Fire Games in New York on the ten-year anniversary of September 11, 2001.
“We are delighted to be able to host these topical breakfasts with the assistance of our many friends and colleagues in the industry,” said New York partner Gil Porter. “We intend to provide a format for ongoing presentations and dialogues among leading members of the industry, from which we and our friends will build a better understanding of our challenges and opportunities.”
