Stacy Campbell-Viamontes Elected President of Center for Disability and Elder Law’s Young Professionals Board

Chicago, September 10, 2012 — Stacy Campbell-Viamontes, a Chicago-based attorney in the Defense Litigation Practice at Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, has been elected President of the Young Professionals Board for the Center for Disability and Elder Law (CDEL) for the 2012-2013 term. She was also chosen to be a member of CDEL’s 2013 Winter Benefit Committee.
CDEL is a non-profit legal services organization that provides pro bono legal services to low-income seniors and/or persons with disabilities in Cook County. Ms. Campbell-Viamontes was actively involved in fundraising and planning efforts for CDEL’s 2012 Summer and Winter Benefits and looks forward to working with CDEL for the 2012-2013 term.
Ms. Campbell-Viamontes is a tireless advocate on behalf of the disabled community. In addition to her efforts for CDEL, she co-chairs the Diversity Scholarship Foundation’s Committee on Lawyers with Disabilities, and serves on the Illinois State Bar Association Standing Committee on Disability Law. Ms. Campbell-Viamontes also mentors incoming and current law students at The John Marshall Law School. She was recently selected to the Just The Beginning Foundation’s (JTBF’s) 20 Under 40 List in recognition of these efforts.
Ms. Campbell-Viamontes defends clients in a broad range of business and personal injury matters and litigates cases involving corporation and partnership disputes, construction law, products liability and transportation law. She handles all aspects of litigation and has experience briefing appeals for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the Illinois Supreme Court.

Stacy Campbell-Viamontes Named to Just The Beginning Foundation’s 20 Under 40 List

Chicago, September 10, 2012 — Stacy Campbell-Viamontes, a Chicago-based attorney in the Defense Litigation Practice at Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, has been selected to Just The Beginning Foundation’s (JTBF’s) 20 Under 40 List. She will be honored during an event at Northwestern University Law School on Thursday, September 20, 2012.
Ms. Campbell-Viamontes was selected for this honor in recognition of her extensive advocacy on behalf of the disabled community and her efforts to assist disabled law students and lawyers, and the disability community. She currently serves on the Illinois State Bar Association Standing Committee on Disability Law, is President of the Young Professionals Board for the Center for Disability and Elder Law (CDEL), is a member of the 2013 CDEL Winter Benefit Committee and co-chairs the Diversity Scholarship Foundation’s Committee on Lawyers with Disabilities. Ms. Campbell-Viamontes also mentors incoming and current law students at The John Marshall Law School.
JTBF was founded as a not-for-profit organization of judges, lawyers, and other citizens dedicated to developing educational programs to inspire and foster careers in the law among students of color and from other underrepresented groups, from middle school through law school. It offers pipeline programs directly aimed at inspiring young students and increasing diversity in the legal profession and judiciary.
