Junior Lawyer – Inhouse Opportunity – 1-2 Years PQE

Wilson Parking New Zealand is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Solicitor to join our growing legal team in Auckland.

This is a unique opportunity for a recently admitted or early-career lawyer to develop practical experience in commercial, property, and regulatory law within a fast-paced, supportive environment.

You’ll work closely with our Senior Legal Counsel to provide legal support across the organisation, helping manage legal risk, promote compliance, and support business outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing

With guidance and mentoring from Senior Legal Counsel, your key responsibilities will include:

• Providing legal advice on commercial, property, parking enforcement, and general legal matters.
• Assisting in the drafting, review, and negotiation of legal documents such as commercial contracts, property agreements, and internal policies.
• Supporting dispute resolution and litigation matters through legal research, document preparation, and liaising with external counsel.
• Conducting legal research and supporting compliance initiatives, including monitoring of legal obligations and updating internal resources.
• Supporting the legal function with general administration, file management, and reporting.
• This is a 12 month fixed term contract with the possibility of extension.

What You’ll Bring

• 1–2 years of post-admission legal experience (in-house or private practice), ideally with exposure to commercial and/or property law.
• A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a current New Zealand practising certificate (or eligibility to obtain one).
• Strong legal drafting, research, and analytical skills.
• An interest in commercial operations and a desire to develop broader legal skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate legal concepts into practical advice.
• Technologically confident with experience using legal platforms such as Lexis+ and Microsoft Office (PowerPoint skills a plus).
• A collaborative mindset with a high attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
