Employer Advisor: 

The EMA has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, customer-focused individual with excellent communication skills to join our AdviceLine team. This position is 37.5 hours a week an involves providing advice to members on employment relations, human resources, legislative compliance, publications and all other products and services provided by the EMA. 

This is a great chance for a graduate student who has studied law/ HR or a related field to advance their career and knowledge in employment law or HR. With training courses and support provided. 

Key Accountabilities: 

  • To provide accurate and timely advise to members 
  • To maintain a strong customer/member focus with positive personal interactions and effective communication
  • To keep appropriate and accurate records of member inquiries in the Member inquires database
  • To be involved in the updating of EMA publications and taking responsibility for allocated guides
  • To provide summaries of employment cases for the “Employer Bulletin” publication

About You: 

  • Preferably, Employment law/employment relations/human resources qualification
  • Tertiary qualification or good knowledge of employment legislation compliance acquired through formal study or from a previous role
  • Previous work experience, preferably in a customer service environment.
  • Communication skills both written and oral, and analytical skills
  • Computer and telephone skills Customer service focus Handling complex situations
  • Lateral thinking, problem solving, articulate, attention to detail, follow- up, initiative, eager to learn and to be challenged.
