Jones Day Again Named in "Fearsome Foursome" Litigation Report

The global law firm Jones Day has been ranked among the “Fearsome Foursome” — the law firms that clients would least like to see on the other side of the table — for the third consecutive time according to the BTI Litigation Outlook 2015 report, published this month by the BTI Consulting Group, Inc.

Jones Day also was one of three firms named a “Litigation Powerhouse” (highest category rating) in securities and finance litigation and one of four firms in routine commercial litigation. In addition, the Firm was ranked a “stand-out” in class actions and torts, IP litigation, complex commercial litigation, complex employment litigation, routine employment litigation, and product liability litigation. It was the only firm ranked in either the “powerhouse” or “stand-out” lists across all eight BTI litigation categories.

BTI bases the analysis of current and future trends in litigation provided in the 2015 Litigation Outlook report on more than 4,000 interviews with general counsel and other legal decision makers conducted over a 14-year period. To identify the 2015 “Fearsome Foursome,” BTI conducted interviews between March and September 2014, asking 300 general counsel and in-house litigation heads which law firms they would least like to see as opposing counsel. The majority, unprompted, named Jones Day and the other three firms on the list.

Jones Day received four additional accolades this year from BTI. In February, three of the Firm’s lawyers were named BTI “Client Service All-Stars for 2014. In March, the Firm was ranked #1 among the BTI Power Elite. In July, the Firm was cited as an IP VIP in the 2015 BTI Intellectual Property Outlook report. And earlier this month, the Firm’s Health Care Practice was named a “Health Care Powerhouse,” the only law firm awarded this ranking in the health care category.

Jones Day is a global law firm with 41 offices in major centers of business and finance throughout the world. Its unique governance system fosters an unparalleled level of integration and contributes to its perennial ranking as among the best in the world in client service. Jones Day provides significant legal representation for almost half of the Fortune 500, Fortune Global 500, and FT Global 500.
